In 1998 the West Vancouver Garden Club established an endowment fund to help support students in the Landscape Horticulture program at Capilano University. The program is no longer offered and the club transferred the endowment to Kwantlen Polytechnic University because of its active Horticulture programs.

A donation of $10,000 with $10,000 matched by Kwantlen Polytechnic University created a $20,000 endowment.  The endowment funds an annual award in the amount of $1,000. This award is offered to a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Horticulture Science in Urban Ecosystems or Plant Health Major or an equivalency as determined by the faculty selection committee. The first award was made in April 2011.

In addition to this award, we donate to the Scholarship Fund of the B. C. Council of Garden Clubs. That fund is able to award a scholarship or bursary to a deserving student in a horticultural program at any of the universities and colleges in the Province.
