West Van Garden Club sincerely thanks member Clare Saadien, for the donations to three local high schools on behalf of West Van Garden Club and the estate of Anna Chree.
$6,000 has been donated to Rockridge Secondary School for the construction and installation of cedar beds and a garden arch for their Garden Project; $6,000 has been donated to West Van Secondary School for the purchase and installation of a twinwall polycarbonate greenhouse. $3,000 has been donated to Sentinel Secondary School for the purchase and installation of a greenhouse and accessories, with a further $3,000 to be donated for their gardens once the greenhouse project is complete. The late Anna Chree was a founding member of West Van Garden Club and a great supporter of local gardening initiatives, and it is propitious that this year is the 50th Jubilee of the Club. Thanks also to Louis Peterson, our Club President, who with Clare and myself, put in a great deal of time and effort reviewing the school\'s gardening programs, meeting faculty and students, and visiting existing and proposed sites for garden program development. We look forward to seeing theses young gardens and gardeners flourish and grow!
