April 1st meeting - cancelled We, the garden club, are cancelling the next meeting and maybe more in the interest of safety and health. Please enjoy your gardens and stay healthy. We can all contribute to keeping the virus at bay if we follow the guidelines set out by the health officials. Be well. FYI: I have heard from the church and Gleneagles that they are closed for the foreseeable future. On to happier times… hope you are enjoying the beautiful days that we are having. Snow drops almost over and all sorts of bulbs are coming up. I am looking at cherry blossoms in a whole new way now. Also bemoaning the fact that I pruned my plum and have made it go crazy. Went up to Hollyburn lodge for music Saturday night and it was so beautiful, fresh snow and the old (rebuilt) lodge lit up with lights and the almost full moon over the snow-covered trees. It’s a lovely walk for those who want winter in spring. A question - who wants pig manure again (it will cost a dollar more than last year as he forgot how far out we are) or do we want to try chicken manure or something? Soil in the fingernails season is upon us have fun in your garden. Cathy Legate. |
