Dan Henegar trained as an Engineer, and with his love of the outdoors, among other activities he became a Certified Arborist and obtained a Masters Degree in Urban Forestry. He is Manager of Parks Arboriculture and Horticulture for the District of West Vancouver, a position that extends beyond customer service to include management of district trees, the local forest, District Golf Courses, and all horticultural areas in the over 140 Parks, 150 km of trails and sports fields in the District. Dan and colleagues review development projects from a "green" perspective, and oversee the decor of hanging baskets and street beautification. They collaborate with volunteer as well as official administrative groups associated with invasive plant control, riparian area development, and matters under other jurisdictions.
