It is in Giverny where Monet was most fully able to express himself as a gardener, over the nearly 43 years that he lived there, from 1883 to his death in 1926. My presentation provides an overview of what shaped the gardens Monet created there, and how those gardens were restored in the late 1970s.
Owen Ballance is a horticulturalist, an experienced gardener, who has worked within both the public and private gardening sectors in Canada, France and England. He is currently a horticulturalist at the University of British Columbia Botanical Garden.

Laurelle Oldford-Down, a certified landscape designer, shared her enthusiasm for growing edibles. She gave us some tips on growing fruits and herbs in small and container gardens, and the best plant varieties for North Shore gardens.
Brian is a "perennial" favourite, because he shares practical tips and ideas. His topic at our March meeting was “Exciting New Trends in Europe” - and our members made sure very few of his exhibits made it back home!
