Linda is an instructor in Master Gardener programs in BC and is busy year-round giving workshops on pest management and organic gardening. A Salt Spring resident since 2001, Linda devotes her time to writing, teaching, and consulting.

If you've ever paused to admire a flash of shimmering green or ruby red flitting among your flowers, you've likely been visited by a hummingbird—one of the garden's most magical guests. Carol Matthews gave a delightful presentation to members of West Vancouver Garden Club in September.

It is in Giverny where Monet was most fully able to express himself as a gardener, over the nearly 43 years that he lived there, from 1883 to his death in 1926. Dante's presentation provided an overview of what shaped the gardens Monet created there, and how those gardens were restored in the late 1970s.
Owen Ballance is a horticulturalist, an experienced gardener, who has worked within both the public and private gardening sectors in Canada, France and England. He is currently a horticulturalist at the University of British Columbia Botanical Garden.
Rosie Daykin is a bestselling and award-winning cookbook author who also happens to garden a little on the side. She talked to us about how she turned a languishing patch of land beside her home into an informal working garden.
Jason is the owner of Fraser Valley Rose Farm on Nicomen Island, a nursery specializing in those unique, hard-to-find, and historical
varieties of roses that are no longer readily available on the market.
The seasons are shifting. Early storms, brought strong winds that stripped the trees of their leaves. These fallen leaves now form a natural mulch, helping to protect the garden as we brace for an early onset of colder-than-usual winter weather.
We were delighted to have the Botanus ladies, Pam, Elke and Wendy, returning to speak to the club. Their image-rich presentations are not only informative but fun and engaging to watch. They have tips and inspiration for everyone from the experienced to the novice.
